Tom & John Won't Let Detroit Die

The opening of the Old Redford Resource Center is just one part of a much larger story. It is part of the story of an entire community coming together to Stabilize – Revitalize – and Beautify their community. Many other positive things are also happening in Old Redford and more good things are happening every day.

Motor City Blight Busters

In its remarkable 18 year history, Motor City Blight Busters in conjunction with its coalition of community partners can proudly claim 120,000 volunteers, who have contributed more than 658,000 volunteer hours to paint 684 homes, board up and secure 379 abandoned buildings, renovate 176 houses and build 114 new ones to make suitable housing for 1,160 people.

C.L.A.S.S

C.L.A.S.S was established in 2003 to educate youth and parents about the importance of prevention. Our mission is to provide opportunities for at risk youth and their families to improve the quality of their lives while learning about the harmful affects of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.

Michigan State Extension

MSU Extension programming promotes healthy lifestyles and educates Michigan residents, allowing each individual to acquire the skills to take control and manage his or her personal health, consume an affordable and nutritious diet, improve self, family and community relationships, reduce the spread of disease and to be a leader in the food industry.

TechTown Detroit

Eight years after it opened its doors to help entrepreneurs, Detroit’s TechTown has embarked on a new challenge: revitalizing one of the city’s hardest-hit neighborhoods; North-West Detroit.

The Old Redford Resource Center was established to serve the North-West Detroit Old Redford Community by providing resources to both the citizens and local businesses of Old Redford.
